Love with Actions with its donors organized a Grand Opening ceremony of the new school, Good Shepherd Academy.
Good Shepherd Academy is a school for children with disabilities, who otherwise would not be accepted in public schools. It is equipped with special – needs, accessible chairs and chalkboards. The children will receive physical therapy and occupational therapy, as well as academic education and hot meal. There are four classrooms and teachers who are able to meet the needs of these special children.

The celebration began with Rwandan dancers who performed several dance numbers with athleticism, enthusiasm and precision. They were beautiful to behold.
Next there were introductions and words by The Executive Director of LWA Mr. Gilbert and government speakers. Gilbert expressed his deep appreciation for all the donors who have made this project possible and how God has blessed this endeavor.
Then came the cutting of the ribbon and champagne, which was sparkly and fun! Next a plaque made of stone and inserted into the wall of the school was unveiled representing donors of the project. Finally, there was a groundbreaking ceremony for beginning the construction of the next phase of the school, another building which will be used for new OT and PT space and offices.

The excitement and anticipation was palpable! Our team of nine women were outfitted in Rwandan dresses which were beautiful. We never looked so good!
Most important of all, the children and their families were given a place of honor. LWA has made great strides in helping children with disabilities receive medical treatment, attend church, and now go to school. The hope in the smiles and faces of these children carried the day!

To God be the Glory!
