By volunteering for several years in a center for children with disabilities in Kigali Gilbert and his wife Esther experiencing how children with disabilities are homeless and malnourished, the idea of Love with actions came to our mind says Gilbert founder of LWA. Having a heart and burning passion to change the lives of children with disabilities is the driving force of our organization. We believe that through us God is growing a ministry that has long been need for these children and their families. With our own resources, we began to supplement that family’s diet and found several others whom they also started to help in small ways.
Gilbert and Esther
To stand beside children with disabilities and their families through advocacy, education, medical treatment, training and family empowerment. We seek to overcome the limitations placed on children with disabilities and their families caused by prejudice and misconceptions, so that they can more fully participate in developing a society that loves all children equally.
Assisting and advocating for children with disabilities from vulnerable families. Allowing them to have dignity within the community. Showing God’s love in viable and holistic ways by easing the burdens they face as victims of ignorance and poverty.
We believe that all children with disabilities and their families are the creations of God. They have the same rights as everyone else.
Humans were created in God’s image. As a creator God loves mankind dearly because they have value and worth. We welcome every child with the love and value they deserve.
We are passionate, innovative and fearless in the promotion and defense of the rights and interests of people with disabilities.
We strive for joint action and cooperation whenever justified by our mission, and stand with and by children with disabilities when they are faced with challenges in their lives.
As an organization changing lives of children with disabilities, we strive and work towards sustainable development outcomes for our children and their families.
We aim at creating environments in which children with disabilities can be and feel welcomed, respected, supported, and valued to fully participate.
