Elyssa was born on June 7, 2018, with cerebral palsy — a bright soul who entered the world facing challenges far beyond his years. In the tender days following his birth, life turned harsh. His father, overwhelmed by the situation, abandoned both Elyssa and his mother, Chantal. Their extended family, too, turned their backs, casting them out and refusing even the most basic kindness, like a cup of water.
Despite her heartbreak and isolation, Chantal stood strong for her son. She tried everything she could to bring Elyssa to physical therapy at the hospital, hoping to ease his struggles and give him a chance at greater mobility and independence. But the cost of transportation was too high, and her efforts soon became unsustainable.
That’s when Love With Actions (LWA) stepped in.
With compassion and unwavering support, LWA intervened — not just to help Elyssa, but to heal and restore what was broken around him. They reached out to Elyssa’s father and, through patient mediation and care, reunited him with his family. LWA also took over the responsibility of Elyssa’s physical and occupational therapy, ensuring that he could access the care he needed without the burden falling on Chantal alone.
Today, thanks to LWA’s intervention, Elyssa’s family is together again. His journey with therapy continues, surrounded by love, dedication, and the promise that he will never have to face his challenges alone.
