Bonheur Mugisha was born on April 21, 2018, to loving parents Alphonse and Claudine. As the second of three children, Bonheur brought immense joy to his family from the very start. His name, which means “happiness,” reflects the bright spirit he carries every day.

However, Bonheur’s early years came with challenges. He was born with a condition known as wind-swept deformity — where one leg bows outward and the other turns inward — a complication often associated with rickets. As he grew, it became clear that Bonheur would need specialized medical care to walk comfortably and lead a full life.

For his family, the road ahead was uncertain. They faced the heavy burden of searching for funds to pay for the corrective surgery required at CHUK (University Teaching Hospital of Kigali). Despite their deep love and determination, the financial obstacles seemed overwhelming.

That’s when Love With Actions (LWA) stepped into Bonheur’s story. LWA partnered with Bonheur’s family, offering medical and health-related support to ensure he received the care he needed. With their help, Bonheur underwent corrective surgery and began his journey to recovery.

Today, Bonheur’s family is filled with gratitude and relief. Thanks to the compassionate support of LWA, Bonheur can look forward to a healthier, brighter future. His story is a testament to the power of community, love, and the belief that every child deserves the chance to thrive.
