Bonheur was born on September 30, 2021 — a beautiful boy with a radiant spirit, yet from the very beginning, life presented him with challenges most could scarcely imagine. Born with a physical disability that left him unable to walk or stand independently, Bonheur’s early days were shaped by both immense love and profound hardship.

His mother, Christine, has been his unwavering pillar. A single mother, she has carried the weight of caregiving alone, after Bonheur’s father disappeared from their lives. The world around them was not kind — when their community learned of Bonheur’s disability, instead of offering support, they responded with rejection and discrimination. Christine and her sons were driven away, isolated from the community that once surrounded them.

Christine has another son, Bonheur’s older brother. Due to their difficult circumstances, he now lives with their grandmother. It is a painful separation — the family longs to be together, but poverty has forced them apart. More than anything, they dream of a home of their own, a place where love and acceptance can flourish freely.

And yet, through all of these struggles, Christine has never lost hope. Her strength is fueled by the remarkable progress Bonheur has made since joining LWA (Let’s Walk Again). In just four months, Bonheur — who once could not move beyond his sitting position — has started to crawl. His smile, once rare, now lights up rooms. He has begun to socialize and engage joyfully with those around him. With the help of supportive hands, Bonheur can now even stand and walk.

For Christine, these milestones are not just medical achievements — they are symbols of possibility, signs that her son’s future is bright despite the shadows they have walked through. Every day, she believes more deeply that Bonheur’s story is not one of limitation, but of resilience and hope.

Their journey is far from over, but Christine’s heart is full of determination. With continued support, love, and the progress Bonheur is making, she knows her son has every reason to dream big.

Bonheur’s name means “happiness” — and true to his name, he and his family are walking step by step toward a future filled with just that.
