Danny Promesse Irakoze is a 4-years-old boy who is unable to talk and has mental and physical disabilities. Like many children with disabilities in Rwanda, the community Danny, his parents and his 3 other siblings live in exclude them and won’t allow them to walk with others or let their children play with those of his family. The family is very close, with Danny’s mother, Adelphine, making only small amounts of money from selling charcoal that she bought with the money her brother gifted to her. After only 3 months at LWA, Adelphine has such hope from the observable changes in Danny. He is developing better, within 3 months his neck has strengthened, and doesn’t roll around, which gives her hope. His hand and arm couldn’t open or stretch properly now it does and he can hold things. Working with LWA has ensured they can get medicine on time and now they don’t miss therapy, while before they missed transport, but LWA assists with that now. Their only prayer is for God to help their child and to give them a home of their own.
