From Rejection to Hope: A Journey of Love and Transformation
Esperance was born on March 8, 2012, facing life with immense challenges from the very start. Complications at birth left her with both mental and physical disabilities — issues with her back, stunted growth, breathing difficulties, and seizures. Yet, in the face of these hardships, Esperance’s spirit shines with remarkable joy and resilience.
Her mother, Francine, already a mother of six, welcomed Esperance as her fourth child. However, the birth of a child with disabilities brought immense stigma. Francine was blamed by her family and community, and Esperance’s father refused to acknowledge her as his daughter. Their home became a place of rejection and isolation.
But everything began to change when Francine and Esperance connected with Love With Actions (LWA). Over the past few months, the work of LWA has not only brought practical support but has transformed hearts and minds. Today, Esperance’s father proudly claims her as his own, and the community that once shunned them now embraces both Esperance and her family with compassion and understanding.
With ongoing challenges — including the search for a stable home — Francine remains hopeful, saying simply, “Praise God” for all the progress they’ve witnessed. Through the dedicated support of LWA, Esperance has made inspiring strides: she can now walk, carry light items, and even feed herself. Beyond her physical improvements, Esperance is also thriving socially and academically as a student at Love With Actions Academy.
In February 2025, LWA deepened their commitment to this family by donating a cow, providing both nourishment and a sustainable path out of poverty. The milk from the cow has been vital in helping Esperance recover from malnutrition — a gift of health and hope.
We are profoundly grateful to the donors and partners of LWA whose generosity makes stories like Esperance’s possible. Your support is breaking down barriers, changing lives, and reminding families like Francine’s that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved.
