Hornella is a 1-year-old girl and the third-born child in her family. She lives with her mother and older brother in a household facing significant economic challenges. In addition, her mother experiences mental health difficulties, which can make daily caregiving more challenging for the family.
Hornella’s journey to receiving support began when a dedicated Community Health Worker identified concerns about her development and encouraged her mother to seek professional assessment. Through this early intervention process, Hornella was diagnosed with developmental delays and connected to the services she needed.
Today, Hornella is enrolled in the Love with Actions program, where she receives both physical therapy and occupational therapy to help her develop essential skills, achieve developmental milestones, and improve her overall functional abilities. Recognizing the importance of good nutrition in a child’s growth and development, she is also enrolled in a nutritional support program to strengthen her health and well-being.
With access to therapy, nutritional support, and ongoing care, Hornella has the opportunity to make meaningful progress during these critical early years of development. Her story is a powerful reminder of how early identification and intervention can transform a child’s future.
With the generosity of donors and supporters, children like Hornella receive the care, therapy, and support they need to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential. Your support brings hope and creates lasting change for vulnerable children and their families.
